Distortion Neck in the bridge?

Been thinking about trying this since learning Seymour originally intended it to be a bridge pickup.

Looking for a modern sounding/not-too-loud humbucker to pair with a P90 at the neck. I want tight lows, rich mids and defined-but-not-overly-harsh treble, at a level that won't totally overpower the P90. Ideally something that will clean up nicely when I back off on the volume, and stay reasonably warm but still have some life in the highs. Splitting well would be a bonus but is not crucial.

Guitar is 24¾" scale, mahogany body/maple cap. Natural tone is pretty typical for this type, not unusually dark or nasal or bright.

C/59 Hybrid seems a bit close to the vintage end of the spectrum, and I think a Custom might be too hot to pair well with a P90...? I do LOVE my BroBucker yet its voice is decidedly traditional. Demon might fit the bill though by reputation it's a bit scooped...? Have considered trying an A8 in a PAF wind but I'm a little concerned about excessive brightness- most of my humbuckers are conventional PAF types and I prefer to avoid needing to tweak for a particular axe.

Would a Perpetual Burn fit the bill maybe? Demon or Demon/UA5? How loud is Pegasus? and does it have firm lows?

I've also thought about unorthodox pole options. (Already have a PATB3, which is sweet but quite vintage in character.) Have considered the Railhammer Alnico Grande, or a Tom Anderson bucker with the fat Alnico magpoles, or a Wilde Bill blade bucker. Any of those would be kind of a shot in the dark though.

Am open to any & all other suggestions. Opinions & advice please?

Re: Distortion Neck in the bridge?

If it has a P90 already, I like the choice of the C/59 Hybrid. To my ears, it is sort of vintage, but as if exposed to radiation and gained super powers. If your goal is to balance it with the P90, the Perpetual Burn (to my ears) has a little more highs. If you had 7 strings, the Pegasus might still be too high of an output to balance, though.

Yah, it has a P90 at the neck already. I have a number of 59s and like them a lot, so I'll reconsider the Hybrid. Still tempted by the Railhammer tho.

My tones are optimized for PAFs and P90s so it's good to know the Seymourizer is pretty bright; I think it probably would sound harsh on my rig. Might be the same story for the P Burn if it's pretty sizzly. And I guess the Pegasus 6 would be too loud for an ideal balance.

Thanks for the advice, guys.
