Distortion vs. Custom?

I've got a Duncan Custom in one of my guitars and I got another guitar that I want to put a Duncan Distortion in the bridge. I was just wondering if someone could compare these for me, so I know how different they are. I need versatility, does the Distortion have it? How well does it do clean? And would a Alnico II Pro in the neck be a good match?

Custom has a PAF sound with good harmonics.

Distortion is more aggresive and has more low end chunk.

Both pups can be versatile, and sound ok clean.

What guitars do you have, and what style do you play?

I never tried an Alnico II Pro .

I've got two custom made guitars. I put an EMG 81 and an 85 in one of them and was not happy at all. I knew they wouldn't be too versatile but I didn't think they would sound so bad. EMG's suck. That's why I was thinking about putting a Distortion in the bridge and maybe a Alnico II Pro in the neck, but I'm not sure. I play mostly Hard Rock like Zeppelin and Sabbath and Deep Purple, but I need something that can hit every possible style but hit Hard Rock the best.
