Distortion+(what???)

I have a Distortion in the bridge and want a fat and punchy neck single coil. What do you recommend for metal use, in an axe with:
*blocked Floyd
*alder body
*rosewood fingerboard
*maple neck

maybe a hot rail???:smack:

A hotrail is NOT a singlecoil...it would be a great choice for a fat punchy sound...if you wanted a fat punchy single coil I would get a Quater Pounder Flat.

He might just be reffering to a single coil sized pickup and if so, The hot rail would be a decent choice.

There aren´t too much options either, apart from the hot rails. The tone wizard suggest a JB jr, but I think it would be too shrill for my tastes.

I've got a Distortion/Cool Rails set in my Hamer Californian. Also, I have a Distortion/Cool Rails/Hot Rails set in my Charvel 650xl. Both combos sound amazing and I would highly recommend either the Hot or Cool Rails.

I was thinkin of a Distortion/Cool Rails/Hot Rails for my girlfriend's Jackson -- or maybe for my Fender.

I dunno, i guess everybody has spoken, you've probably already got a Hot Rails, but keep in mind some of those other little humbuckers they've got to maybe add a different sound. If the li'l 59 sounds like the full-sized one then i'll tell you, it sounds good great as a smoothe and rock'n neck pickup.

That's the exact combo I have in my Charvel 650xl. It sounds absolutely killer.
