DIY pedalboard build

Started a pedalboard today.

Got a wooden shelf kit from the local big box hardware store.

Sanded and reinforced it, finishing with cherry stain.

I'll post more pics as it comes along.

I'll keep posting the progress.

Next is the front piece that'll angle the board.

After that, clear coating, Velcro, rubber feet on the bottom and some handles for when I'm transporting the board.

I love DIY projects like this. I wish I was better at them. Instead, I look for days to find the right pedalboard, and then it is never exactly perfect- I have to make compromises, which I also hate.

I was planning on a smaller board... Then I realized with my pedaltrain 2 that if I put 2 wah type enclosures on it, I have very little room for other stuff.

So I went bigger. The shelf I got the wood from cost me $20. The stain and varnish and Velcro were left over from other stuff, so I got enough to build 3 pedal boards bigger than my pedaltrain for only $20.

Here's the next piece... This will attach to the front to raise the back row. I've also applied the first coat of varnish to the pedal surface.

4 coats of varnish later. Will be ready to assemble this weekend then add rubber feet, handles and Velcro.

I had to sand the pedal surface again after staining to get the Colour back because the stain hid the grain; but yeah, I'm real happy how it turned out.

Assembled and heading out soon to get rubber feet (some washers to put under one foot to sort out a levelling issue too) and a couple of handles for easier transporting.

Also added the handles, feet and put my last name along the front as a personal brand name.

I give up... It shows up fine when I post them, but then dies again.

Seems the ones that failed first time are there now, the ones failing this time are the new ones I tried to add. I'll edit the post and re-add them. Seemed to work last time for the other pics
