DMZ Gravity Storm and Transition Neck Pickups in the Bridge Position

Has anyone tried either the Gravity Storm Neck or Transition Neck in the bridge position of a Superstrat?

Any other medium-output pickups besides the more commonly mentioned Breed Neck?

Hoping for options that don't sound like a coked wah or the PAF Pro.

Bahaha you're also wondering about the Gravity Storm!

Air Norton right back at ya =P I have it in my JP and it's totally awesome. For a neck pickup it has nice harmonics, it's punchy and plenty of warmth, but I feel that the bass and lower mids are pulled back enough to keep the pickup from getting muddy and still retains a good amount of brightness. Highly recommend it!

Evolution Neck is an interesting pickup that's got a very very compressed sound. Attacks are very smooth and even, and the compression gives the illusion that your guitar has a lot of sustain. It's also pretty damn high power for a neck pickup. I dig it.

I also really enjoy the Gibson Burstbucker 2 in the neck. It's pretty bright sounding and the output level is pretty good for a neck pickup (heck, lots of Gibson CS guitars even use it in the bridge). It has a sweet yet jangly top end and a whole lot of mids. It's not the tightest sounding thing in the world so I don't use it to do a lot of heavy rhythm playing in the neck (that's what the bridge is for anyways!). For single note leads and riffs or chord shapes higher up in the neck though, it absolutely sings wonderfully. Only downside is that it costs a **** load, WTF Gibson >___<

Re: DMZ Gravity Storm and Transition Neck Pickups in the Bridge Position

I may not have been clear, I'm asking about medium output* neck pickups for specific use in the BRIDGE position.

I'm not all that interested about how they sound in the neck, at least not for the purpose of this thread.

Also, if it's going to sound anything beyond slightly compressed in the bridge it's a no-go. If that's the case for either the Gravity Storm or Transition neck pickups, I'd like to know.

If that's the case for The Breed Neck, I'd like to know that too! :)

* - that would exclude vintage PAF style pickups, as well as most hot neck pickups (save for magnet swaps).
