the david gilmour strat was very expensive. there's no doubt you could make a warmoth strat for less than that. but if someone just wants a black strat with better pickups, getting an american standard and the pickups of your choice is usually cheaper than having warmoth make one. plus you can play a few and choose your favorite.
im not bashing you or anti warmoth in any way. i have some warmoth stuff and have other parts guitars that i love. its a fun way to make guitars, but i wouldn't say its the most cost effective.
