Do I have Antiquities in my Guitar?

Hello Peeps,

So I buy this superbly relic'd Strat from eBay, bloke says it has been fitted with SD Antiquities. I removed the pickguard last night - can anyone tell me if these pups look like antiquities?

are you selling it?

They sound great - no I'm not selling, just curious as to whether they are actually antiquities!

I don't think so, I think they're just like standard strat covers, but relic'd

I thought the numbers would be models, as they would be slightly different pups in the bridge, mid & neck... I would have thought the "SD" mark stands for Seymour Duncan, but I can't find any info about their model/serial numbering scheme.

Thanks for the input all!

no, they aren't antiquities - they have a signed sticker and serial number on the back..

SSL-1s?

I don´t think so... looks more like SSL-1s with grody covers to me.... Like Imp said, No sig or serial....

But they may not have always been made that way (though i´m fairly sure they were...)

Re: Do I have Antiquities in my Guitar?

they have a yellow hot wire, as well

Thank you all for your replies.

The SSL-1 pole pieces look to be at very similar heights, so looks like it could be them.

Does anyone have SSL-1s and can confirm that the back of the pups look the same?

Thanks!
