Do most Peavey Vypers have a noise issue?

Played through a used Peavey Vyper 15 yesterday at GC - priced at $40 lol. Sounded great, except for a fairly distracting high pitched noise that got worse the louder the master volume was up.

Googling, looks like a lot of them have a similar issue - do they pretty much all have it?

Hmm... I've never heard that. Was it the newest model?

If it was used there might be something wrong with it. If new even a factory defect. Maybe they're just noisy in general? If I were you and I was really into the amp I would go and try a different one of the same model. If it's still noisy then they mudt just be noisy amps. . Rock on.

I've had the 15 and currently the VIP2
I haven't noticed a buzz
Maybe it was a bad cable or jack

hated those amps.... I'd go for a Fender Mustang used over that, and a step up wold be a Valvetronix used.... you can find these all over GCs used online inventory as well as Reverb

My VIP2, which I purchased as a practice bass amp, had a rattle or blat on certain bass notes at volume

Found almost every screw loose
Baffles, speakers, covers, all of em
Much better now
