Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

I was looking to buy a Seymour Duncan Custom for my PRS CE 22 w/ trem and I need to know if they require F-spacing? I found a Custom at a shop near me but it's F-Spaced and I'm not sure if I can use it or not.

Check DiMarzio's site under FAQ of f-spacing, they give the bridge width and nut width measurements, also check on this site's FAQ, as I believe they list measurements for the trembuckers (which I believe are exactly the same spacing as f-spaced).

Re: Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

in all honesty i wouldnt worry about it too much.

measure the string spacing on a prs, if its wider than 2" e to e then get a trem spaced pup

Re: Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

I have a standard spaced '59 PU on the only trem PRS I have and it suits well !

But it's a Santana model , not a CE 22 . The scale is 24,5" on my axe instead of 25" on a CE, but it shouldn't be that much diference.

No. In fact standard spaced Duncans are a very nice fit.

Re: Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

Well, I tried a trembucker JB in my PRS CE w/ trem and the strings line up perfectly with the pole pieces. I noticed when I had the stock pups in it, the low E string was higher than the low E pole piece, so i got the trem spaced and it worked like a charm.

Re: Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

the stock PRS humbuckers are standard spaced, so i use standard spaced pups

Re: Do PRS's with trems require F-Spacing?

i have a prs with a trem with a duncan custom in the bridge standard NOT f spaced and it works fine it dosent line up exactly but the screws are large enough to pickup the strings and its farily high output so i wouldnt worry either or whatever they have in stock I was concerned at first but hey it sounds no differen :) t
