do they make an octave pedal...

Re: do they make an octave pedal...

that's f-in $300! I could get a harmony man for that much...

Yeah but it's not a cool as an Octron II!

That said you can't get an Octron II for $300 unless you order, wait 2 years then get it, if you want one right now they are closer to $450

The Old Mutron Octave divider had 2 switches but those are more than the Octron...

Are you wanting a digital octave up like a whammy pedal or harmony box or an analog/fuzzy octave up like an octavia???

Re: do they make an octave pedal...

i think i'm gonna go with digital--as much as i like what other people do with the octavia types, I can never get the right blend of fuzz/octave with them, and I don't really dig the steel drum thing at all

Think of it more like $150 per octave and the direct signal thrown in for free.

You can hear all three here: http://geoffwells.bandcamp.com/track/the-death-of-octavius

Then the Octron is out anyway...

The POG2 has presets that can be accesed via a foot switch and while it's $325 it does a LOT more than just octave up and down...

Short of that I'm not sure what to suggest except 2 seperate octave pedals...

Re: do they make an octave pedal...

I waited over 2 years, in fact when my name came up I was tired of waiting and had moved one...never even got one!

I may have just gotten lucky. When I first emailed Dave he said he'd put me on a list and then contact me when he was about to build another batch. I think I heard Geoff's "Death of Octavius" and jumped in at just the right time. I rarely use the effect, but when I need it nothing else will do. I finally had to make a place for it on the board.

By the way, the Pharoah has now replaced the Strymon Favorite switch. I couldn't bring myself to bump the chorus because I need to do a B3(ish) rhythm part next month.

Yeah I was thinkin about that one, the only bad part is there's what... 6 or 7 presets? So if I had preset 1 for octave up, and preset 2 for octave down, I'd have to kick the thing 4 more times to get back to octave up. And really, who needs 6 f-in presets on an octave pedal?

It looks like maybe the digitech whammy or harmony man may be the best bet... the pog 2 does a lot more than just octave up/down, but both the digitechs do way more than that

2 separate pedals are not totally out of the question either since both the digi's take up a lot of space and cost about as much as 2 would anyways. If I went that route I'd def get the Boss PS-6 for all the crazy awesome **** it does, but what would you suggest for a simple octave down? Again, somethin clean...

If I were you I'd get 2 seperate pedals one for down and one for up, if it were me and I was trying to save ash maybe an old OC-2, they sound great and can be had cheep then for the octave up maybe a mini POG or the Boss Harmonist pedal, not my fav harmony in a box buit for only octave up it'll do fine and this is what you do to make life easy...

Order a switcher box from Loop-Master, tell Brian you want a 2 loop switcher with 3 switches one swtich to toggle between the loops (or octave down and octave up in this case) as well as a both switch for both loops active then a master bypass to dummp both pedals out of your signal...

Done and done!

Re: do they make an octave pedal...

By Jove I WILL have one of those Octron II's. Thank you all for bringing those to my attention..Might be a while. Anyone want to buy a OC-2 with tons of Mojo?
