Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

I want to know about pedals you really, really like. Something you might not even be sure why you like it so much. Not something that you regard highly, and maybe something that you think there might be better pedals.

For instance, I really, really like my DOD Bifet Boost. It's a simple pedal, and it boosts well. Are there better boosts? Yes. But I really like my Bifet Boost, and I'm not entirely sure why.

Xotic EP Booster - because it just gives me more of my guitar, even at unity.

TC Electronic Spark Mini - simple but effective, momentary switch is ace.

EHX Memory Toy. It has an "inferior" sound to it's more expensive, bigger brothers but I actually like it better. The noise and imperfections sound more interesting to me.
If I wanted perfect repeats I'd buy digital.

Joyo US Dream. Perfect for pushing your amp further into gain stages without being an "in your face" tone. Thick, smooth and musical.
If I want a tight, more aggressive gain tone I'll go for my Keeley Blues Driver, which is a lot more cutting but has some GREAT mids, cuts just a tiny bit of bass unlike the stock unit, and sounds like a guitar and not like a pedal.

EDIT: And all of the forementioned would be useless if they didn't go through the only pedal I've always used in the last 15 years.
My old, almightly Boss GE-7 Equalizer. It goes through the loop of whatever I'm playing through, always. And it makes things better.

I love these puppies.

Ive also been really impressed with my little TC flashback mini. I only use one sound, but I never have to fool with the pedal except I if kick a knob by accident. The last 3 delays I had before it, I was always fiddling with them.

Almost inexplicably, I just really, really like my Boss PH-3 phaser. It's been around a while (and it's digital); it doesn't have a major-mojo pedigree or a big-name endorsement, but it does a lot and sounds good. I can practically play myself into a trance with it, like with a good tremolo. I almost sold it during my last pedal purge, but I thought about all those sounds I can get with it that I can't get with my EVH Phase 90, and I couldn't get rid of it.

RHE Mint Drive V3.
Cleaner break up than my MIJ TS9. More like a boost but wow. It takes my clean sound into the slightly dirty blues tone I love.

Suhr Riot Reloaded.
The entire range of the gain knob is musical. Distortion pedals are like burgers. They are all good with a little different flavor when made right. This is my current burger of choice. Way better than the Bogner Red I had.

MXR analog Chorus. Being able to blend in the affected signal is nice. Not as clear as a TCE SCF and not as thick as a CE5. Wanting to get a Hardwire CR7 again to a/b. The MXR is a nice chorus though.

MojoHandFX IronBell.
Great fuzz. Not the best fuzz for everyone but great for those who don't go for the sputter my spastic style.

My old Boss DD-3 with the long chip(in other words a DD-2)....love that ghostly delay sound is has...no annoying percussive delay.
Ibanez SD-9 with the right amp and such, it is a sound all of its own...
And the Maxon CS-505, Ibanez FL-301.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

SD pickup booster - simply because it adds magical tone.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

My Ibanez tubescreamer. The "secret weapon" in my sound, run with the dirty channel on my 6505+ its tightens up the flubbiness, gives more attack and is all out chug!

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

I have been using a DOD FX40B eq pedal on and off since I bought it new in the early 1990s. It is so versatile. I don't understand why everyone doesn't use an eq pedal?
I have read that the DOD is noisy, unreliable, and not well built but mine is quiet and always works. Clean boost, overdrive, it's all in there. If it ever died I would try to repair it rather than just replace it.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

I really like the 805 Overdrive, and the Vise Grip. I also really like the Line6 M9 & DL4. The Fractal AX8 is a remarkable piece of gear.

+1

I'm very much a fan of the DD-2 / long chip DD-3. IMO it's like a best of both worlds blend of digital and analog delay; the low resolution takes the edge off the bright, percussive tone digital delays tend to have, but additional repeats don't turn into murky mud. I currently only have one, but I'd really like a second so that I don't have to choose between the two settings I REALLY like.

Maybe I'm a closeted Boss fanboi, but I also love my CE-2. I don't play with chorus all the time, but I like it a fair amount and no other pedal comes close IMO.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

I really like my MXR Carbon Copy Delay, my Mooer Trellicopter, and my Joyo Sweet Baby pedals. The CC delay is just a great all around delay pedal, and it's been on my board a lot longer than anything else. The Trellicopter is a nice trem modeled after the Demeter Tremulator. The Sweet Baby is a knock off of the MP Sweet Honey, and is a great mild OD that I almost always leave on, unless I'm needing a totally clean sound.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

If I had not bought the Maxon CS-505 chorus, I would have kept the CE-2...
I don't use chorus much either, but now and then I get the urge :D

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

Klon Centaur
Barber LTD. silver
Way Huge Red Llama (Mike Campbell's secret weapon) Fat and loose sounding like a cranked 59 Bassman.

Strymon Lex Rotary speaker pedal. In stereo, it's about as close as you can get to a Leslie 147.
I don't use them much, but the Bogner Red and Blue XTC pedals are simply great.
The Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail reverb is a modern classic.

Re: Do you have any pedals that you just really, really like?

The Truetone H2O V3

It has two sides with chorus and the delay on the other side.

This pedal can give a double does of doubling. The delay side can be set for a very short delay and down a bit. IF I want more doubling there is the chorus side. This is greatly improved over V2. It will go from chorus to vibrato. Also the builders were considerate enough to give her a tone control and left the rotary speaker setting from the V2.

There is one switch I didn't really like with the chorus going full on chorus and that is a little toggle switch labeled Detune. However, since a chorus can give a bit of short delay and I like doubling, I switched it on and gave it a try. Really nice.

Also you can combine sides. There are some good sounds in this little blue box.

HM-2, always and forever, but that probably doesn't meet the spirit of the thread, so I'll say the ibanez bi-mode chorus. Pretty awesome for discharge worship and lots of other things too, and it's stereo.
