Do you keep your guitar on a stand or in its case?

I've always wondered what everyone else does with their guitars when they're not playing them. I usually just put them on my warwick 6 or 7 holder rack. I've heard lots of people say they put them in a hard case. This seems kinda wierd to me but I understand it. Everyone I know locally just puts them on stands. Well, what do you do?

My cases sit in the back of the closet. I even schlep my guitars around in a gig bag.

On a stand.. within close reach

Actually, I keep a couple on stands, and the rest in cases.

it depends on the guitar...my LP and my '79 guild are in the cases all the time under my bed. my schecter and tele (two main guitars) are in cases all the time in the den...one strat sits on a stand in my room hooked up to my pod XT...and the other 6 are on a rack in the den next to my amps.

I've got a five-insturment stand right next to my computer/recording set-up, plus one guitar hanging on the wall in this room and another hanging on the wall in my bedroom (for mid-night songwriting urges).

I think it's a waste to keep a guitar hidden in a case. They are works of art man, you gotta show em off! :bigok:

I usually keep my strat clawed in my lifeless kung fu grip against my chest as i sleep....

nah actually since its brand new, i keep it in its case, but when ive had it for a long time, ill prob just keep it on a stand or on the ground, or laying on my bed...

i got one stand and 2 bags/cases. i keep my strat in the case cause i dont have anywhere else to put it. my uncle lent me his 74 ibanez strat copy and will be lending me his ?? really old strat. I know its from 65-72 in age, and it looks so nice!

im the lazy dude you'll ever meet. if i kept all mine in their cases id never play em just cause id have to go outta my way to get em. i have 4 of mine on a warwick 5 stand, and 2 on single stands (those shapes dont fit on the rack stands)

I keep my guitars either in their case or gig bag when I'm not playing. I used to keep all my guitars out on stands, but they got dusty as hell...I don't like to dust :yell:

I just lean most of mine against sh!t. Although, my 1957 Gibson has been lying down on a bed in the other room for quite a while now.

i just keep mine on wall hangers i tried stands before but it got knocked over and snapped the headstock off my les paul

It's mixed for me, my #1 Tele is always out sitting in the stand as is my acoustic. But the rest are in their appropriate cases.

The martin spends every night in the case, but during the day it can be found on a stand, the floor, etc. I try to take care of it, and it always travels in its case.

The godin lives on a stand, though can also be found in a few other spots (the floor, couch, leaning on the amp) It always travels in its gig bag. Its a great working guitar that can take a licking, look less than perfect, and sound stellar
