there is a fender sample that i did on all three channels and with different gain settings.

i really need some feedback on my tone. for some reason, i really like this amp because it sounds very warm and thick, but i'm getting some mixed responses on my tone. i do care how people perceive my tone because how well i do musically in the public eye will have a lot to do with how much success i have.

i would appreciate some feedback, thanks.

The clean could you a little extra…iDunno…something to it -- I didn't find much character in it.

As for the overdrive channel, it sounded pretty tasty to me. Some nice grit and compression to that tone.

Re: Do You Like My Tone?

The tones get better the more drive you add. The driven tone sounds great, but the clean sounds a little limp.

Re: Do You Like My Tone?

You should stop caring what anyone else thinks. You've already said you like it, what else matters?

This thread will be a little deceiving since nobody knows what they're listening to unless they've read one of your other numerous posts on the SS. In particular if they're commenting on the thinness of the Vibrolux, you've already known that.

FWIW I thought it was a little difficult to discern from the sample. I wanted to hear you dig in with some chord work or something to really showcase the individual tones. Also some notation of when the particular sounds start and stop would be helpful since it all sort of runs together.

Yea, the cleans sounded slightly odd at times. Like something was missing. No real Stratty chime to all of it.

Then again I guess that's the tone you're shooting for. Was it completely dry? You might want to add a little bit of reverb.

Re: Do You Like My Tone?

i had the reverb around 9 o'clock, so it was kind of dry. fender reverb does seem to be an essential part of the fender clean sound that people tend to like. too late now though, i'm back to mesa boogie
