All vibratos are floating, including the Floyd.
But it is setup to be less bouncy.

I like mine... FULL FLOATING, set up so the strings are 9/16" to 5/8" off the body at the bridge with no pick guard and lots of up pull. Three springs and a set of .009s for standard E, swop the .046 out for a .049 to .052 for Drop D, and a set of .010s for E Flat. Bends and double stops... not a problem.
With that said, I don't do peddle steel effects. Not yet any how.

I had a bunch of RGs and a Saber back in the day. I liked the ones with Edges floating. If the bridge is recessed, floating is OK. If not, I prefer it against the body.

I like my strats floating, but my Floyds non floating. Though I did sell my only Floyd guitar last year to get a McCarty.

Floating for me but I have a tremol-no installed so I get all three options. If it's not full floating it's in hard tail mode.

I like my Floyd's Nonexistent!!! They are terrible!!! I keep two of my Stratocaster's tremolos "floating" incase there's something I need to have a floating tremolo for, the rest of my guitars that have tremolos are set up to rest or blocked up completely! It's been my experience that the more moving parts something has the more likely it is to break! If there was a more simple & inexpensive way to do it, I'd convert all of my Stratocasters & Trem equipped guitars to Hard Tails!!! Funny thing, you can get that same sound if you wiggle your fingers? LOL, I'm just kidding, they are great for some people, if you know how to use one correctly then you can do amazing things with them! It was never really my style of guitar or music so any axe I owned that had one, & this was when I was a kid in the 90's, used 80's Shredders were a dime a dozen back then, I just got the best guitar I could afford & then I'd just block them up & remove the arm...

I've currently got two top mounted, 2 recessed/floating and one blocked for pull up only. As long as it's got a Floyd, its fine with me.

Wouldn't that be too much? I set it around 2.8mm and 2.35mm at the 24th fret and the pull range has already reached its maximum: the block hits the body while the saddles don't.

Both Top Mount and Dive Only
2 2-Post Strats:
1 Floating for G->Bb pull up
1 Floating for vibrato
2 6-Screw Strats:
1 Floating for vibrato
1 decked
I tend to use the Strats for vibrato only, and the Floyds for dive bombs. I'd like a recessed Floyd guitar, but it hasn't happened yet.
