Do you match caps according to pot value?

I was wondering if there is a certain cap value to go with the 500k volume & tone pots I'm putting in my epi lp custom.

I have no idea what they are now, before you ask. Thank you much.....

p.s. any response is appreciated as I'll be taking my guitar to the tech to install all my new crap and would like to know, obviously, before hand.

...... oh yeah, a bit off topic. I realized that my guitar has a maple top and was wondering if the sh-5 is doomed to be brittle in it because of that?

1. I typically like to use .022's with 500K Pots & Buckers

2. I don't think your guitar is "doomed" because your guitar has a Maple cap. The Custom is a great sounding pickup and alot of people like them in Les Pauls, most of which have a maple cap.
