Do you scoop mids(this time on bass)

As most people around here i love lots of mids in my guitar sound, but i thought it would be itneresting to see what people do with their bass tones.

personally, i don't use too much mids. I turn down the low mids since they tend to drone and don't do anything else for the sound. I keep the high mids rather neutral or a little up to get some transparency. I have both bass and treble upped to give a fat sound that keeps good attack and punch.
Too much mids on bass give a very nasal sound that's just not grooving for me.

So how do you feel about mids on basses?

the same. When I'm mixing a bass on a recording, I will turn the bass completley off, bring the treble up a little and turn it up until it's present in the mix, then turn the bass up slightly until it rests in with the rest of the mix nicely and doesn't boom. If it doesn't have enough "cut" after that, I'll turn the mids up until it's audible... but not too audible. Depends whether or not I really want the bassline to be showcased.
