Do you think Mesa/Boogie amps are overpricd?

Re: Do you think Mesa/Boogie amps are overpricd?

The ideal of American workers making a living wage by making high quality made-in-USA products comes at the expense of higher prices to the consumer.
The subject of top-notch customer service has been brought up too. I agree with those who say that is worth paying extra for.

Mesa prices aren't as bad if you're living in the US. By the same token Marshalls (it seems to me at least) get a little bit of a surcharge too if you buy them here. Of course I am probably just stating the obvious, but I'm on cold medicine. =)

Yup. It's worth it anytime you can do it.

So how about it? I was up in Sweetwater Music today buying a "85" Whiteface RAT and I saw this Mesa/ Boogie Rect-O-Verb 50 watt 1x12 combo, the tag on it read $1,599.99. I played around on the amp and it sounded pretty good, but not good enough to justify the price tag on it. I asked the sales guy if that was the sale price and he told me yeah and that Mesa is firm on there prices. What is the deal here?

I don't find their amps that expensive.

I bought anew 20th Anniversary Bogner Shiva that cost me $2200 only because my buddy was the sales manager and got me a deal. At a another store I bought a new Multi Watt Mesa Dual Rectifier that is built as well as my Bogner and sounds just as good, just different. Sounds like a good deal to me.

The Mark V is also killer and VERY reasonable. Good company.:bigok:
