i've gone through a few...now i have a morley tremonti wah and it's the last wah i'll buy! this thing is perfect for me! i love not having to stomp on it to click the button to turn it on and off. just move it and it goes on and let go and it shuts off. perfect for how i use a wah in the middle of riffs and such for only certain parts.

I use the standard wah that Dunlop makes... the lowerer priced Cry Baby.... For me it works well with the 5150... Sometimes i wish the effect was a little louder.... but for $99 Canadian it was a good price...
Once i stomped on the pedal really hard while i was showing off at a gig and my signal was cutting in and out with that pedal for a while.... ever since it has worked perfectly... whatever i did seems to of corrected itself...

I think the wah is evil.
I never really liked what I heard when I attempted to use it. The guitar player in my band used his as a crutch, and I learned to HATE the wah.

Ya the guys in my band used to give me heck for over using Wah and Delay effects.... i took the delay pedal off my board and learned to use the wah only once in a while...... and use the wah in different ways other then fast funky rythyms... slow filter sweeps and stuff

-Dunlop 535Q
-Custom Teese RMC3
-Morley Bad Horsie II
-EMB Audio rack wah
Each one is pretty different and I have a use for all of them. The Teese just rules for blues rock, that old school extreme quacky type of wah. The EMB is perfect for high gain and SUPER stretchy/vocal. The morley and dunlop are kinda tied for me though. They are both voiced differently, the dunlop obviously has that signature dunlop tone, but more of a hot rodded traditional wah sound. The morley is sweet though, I dig it's tone and it's almost a cross between dunlop and EMB.

you can shape its tone so much, which makes it good for any style IMO

I've only recently started using one, and it's the basic Dunlop Crybaby. It's an effect that takes some time to get used to using so that it doesn't sound like crap, though. I like it, and don't use it too much (I don't want to overuse it!), but I now want to try out other wahs to see if there's one that I like more than the basic Crybaby.
I like the tone from the Crybaby, but I don't like a couple of things:
1. Having to "stomp" it on and off. That's a little annoying, especialy when you're in the middle of a solo, or riff.
2. I don't like how the pedal travels down with little affect on the tone, then there's about a half inch where all the "shaping" of the tone occurs, then more travel with very little affect again. I have to really "finesse" that middle section.
Any suggestions to overcome these 2 things??

Alla time. At least twice per gig, depending on what we are playing. I don't usually go "WakaWaka", mostly I sort of wander it around the low-upper midrange, & find feedback points. Some time's I go "Wegowegowego" real fast & Hendrixy. Had the same Cry baby since '79 or so. It's one of the not-desirable ones with the square inductor.
