Hi All
I've got an Oak-style 5-way Strat switch in my Strat which I bought from somewhere like WD Music or Allparts (can't quite remember). It was in a project guitar for a while but is now in a Squier CV.
It seems to be quite noisy. Not in a crackly way, but in the way that you can hear a loud audible click when switching between certain pickup positions. And if you waggle the selector back and forth quickly, you can hear it switching over the amp. ALSO......I noticed in rehearsal the other night that if I have it on the bridge pickup and then very quickly flick it the neck, 3 times out of 10, there is no, or little output on the neck until you move the switch out of position and back in again.
These Oak style switches are supposed to hold up for years and years, but I've barely used this one. is it possible that I overcooked it during soldering? is that possible with a switch?
