Does anybody have SD Invaders in their ESP?

I currently have JB/Jazz in it but I'm really leaning towards the invaders just because of the idol "Syn".... all though I still do not want his exact tone but you know what I mean perhaps. I just want to experiment a bit. I own the ESP Horizon II. People say that it's harsh I don't always play metal usually rock hard rock too! Maybe blues. Just wondering how you like your invaders in the guitar.

While I don't have the same setup, I can say you have a better chance of accurately nailing other tones besides metal with the pickups you currently have. The Invaders are sort of extreme pickups that don't have the tone or the right 'feel' for much hard rock, much less blues.

The Invaders are cool, but they are pretty thick and hot. I always end up removing them in favor of something brighter and more expressive, but I'm more of a lead player. For heavy rhythms and fat single note sounds, the Invaders are great. Oddly enough, I've never though Syn's sound was all that great. With studio mastering, his tone cuts fine, but live I've always thought he doesn't stand out enough.

As Mincer said, you'll get much more versatility out of the set you already have. Still, I can understand the desire to experiment...that's why we're all here!

The invaders are uncontrollable things, I went down that road once and will not be going back. I suggest a more versatile and tame pickup, distortions or JB

Is it a maple-neck mahogany-body, with ebony?
Floyd or hardtail bridge?
Maple-top or not?

The Invader is one of my favorite models by anyone, but it's specifically not suited well for some guitars.
Horizons in general seem like a descent fit, though we all know every axe is it's own thing.

I'd suggest Black Winter set. I understand that one can also be guided by other considerations other than tone (your fav band use it, looks great, marketing). You kinda buy a new identity with something like a new pickup. That is the reason why I bought Nazgul last year LOL. Black Winters killed me with their SOUND, though.
