Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

...to get 2 different delay sounds?

I want to get 2 different delay sounds, but don't wanna keep changing the settings on my Boss DD3.

I'm trying to incorporate 2 delay sounds - a twin guitar sound, and another for delay.

Is there a single pedal that will let me do both, simultaneously?? If so, please recommened.

Would it be better to run 2 pedals to achieve this? This would be easier for me since I already have 1 delay pedal (the Boss DD3). If so, please recommend you favorite pedals to achieve each desired sound.

Thanks,

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

sorry for my ignorance, but what do you mean by "twin guitar sound"

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

i buddy of mine uses 3 or 4 delay pedals, crazy bastatrd that he is, lol.

i cant think of any pedal that lets you run 2 delay settings, simultaneously or not. You know if you are gonna buy another delay that its got to be the duncan one though, right?

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

I use 2 or 3. Tried putting my AD-9 INSIDE my ibanez but that was more difficult than I had hoped and is still 'in progress'.

I have a digitech whatever it is and an Ibanez DE-7 also. I use the DE-7 for more of an echo type or regular delay while the digitech does best with a 'mod' tone (think nirvana come as you are effect) or a tape reverse. You can get some crazy sounds out of numerous delay pedals when combining and messing with the settings while you play.

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

I have a carbon copy on my pedal board for a vintage delay, and I have a digital multiprocessor in my effects loop that is primarily for reverb, but I also use it for clean long delays, ping pong, multitap and stereo doubling. Covers all the bases.

If you want to hear someone rocking 3 or 4 delays and loopers at the same time, check out Nick Zimmer of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. He's a maniac with the delays.

I'm currently using the DD3 with a very short delay. This allows my single guitar to sound like 2 guitars playing in synch.

I find it very useful for some lead, but I mostly use it for rhthym work. It gives me a much fuller sound, especially when trying to copy rhythm work from bands with 2 guitarists or when just trying to achieve a more fuller, spacious sound...

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

Almost the same here..... Have a carbon copy as a single loop but use a digital rack processor for most of the delays. Of course it is all midi programmed cause I distracted too easy to tap dance :D

Line 6 DL4? You could have up to 4 different settings as it has 4 switches I think?

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

oh, ok.

the Boss DD20 has a Tape delay sound that has "2 heads" that can be used at the same time...i think so..i'll check it out and get back to you.
and the DD20 also has a dual delay feature a long and a short delay at the same time.

i recently started using my dd20 with 2 miliseconds of delay on the modulation delay and it gives me a decent chorus sound.

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

I use the Boss RV-3 w/ built in delay for solos and a Digitech Digidelay (hey, don't knock it 'til you try it!) for "Edge / U2 type" of modulated delay sounds.

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

the visual sound h2O pedal might be what you need. its not two delays but tis a delay and a chorus. you could do your doubled guitar sound with the chorus and have the delay do its thing. you can run both effects at the same time, each has its own switch

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

DD-20 - 2 delays at once
Nova delay - 2 delays at once (sort of)

2 delays are cool. I used to put one in front (MD-2) and one in the loop (DD-6) or maybe the other way around. Slapback and a half pre-distortion, a few *subtle* repeats after distortion. I liked having 2 delay sounds at once, one before distortion and one after.

the MM4 has 4 buttons but you can only select one at a time IIRC.

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

I use a DD-3 and a Short Timer (soon to be replaced with another DD-3) but I use them mostly for two different sounds: one slapback, and one Summers/Edge kinda thing. I rarely use them at the same time.

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

If by "twin" you mean two guitars simultaneously playing the same thing, a chorus does a better job. If by twin you mean two guitars playing different things (harmony) a pitch shifter does a better job.

either plus a delay would be my choice.

Andy Timmons uses two EH Memory Man delays.

I have a Rocktron Short-Timer and an Echo Park on my pedal board.

The BOSS PS-5 has a 'detune' setting specifically for running a single guitar into two amps to simulate two guitarists playing simultaneously. It works pretty well, too!

That's what I'm saying - chorus is a detune effect with a little delay - more or less. I dig chorus with adjustable delay. But most pitch devices can do chorus.

Yes, 2 guitars playing the same thing.

I've already got a chorus pedal on my board set to a nice chorus-ey sound... I tried to get a dual sound from it and it didn't really do the trick for me. I like the twin sound I get using the delay better.

I've tried this with the Boss CE and I'm currently using the EH Small Clone. I've got the clone set they way I like it for a modulated chorus effect. Not really interested running 2 chorus'es... and I'm trying to avoid changing settings between songs...

Re: Does anyone here use 2 delay pedals?

I was in a group once where I had to use a LOT of delay and in order to not have to keep messing with my settings I actually used 3 delay pedals...it looked like massive overkill but it made life easy and for me it was better than the rack delay unit I had been using before that...
