Hey,
If anyone can let me know what model this Seymour Duncan pick-up is, i'd really appreciate it, as I can't find it on the net anywhere, and an Seymour Duncan dealers haven't been of any use. It has the Seymour Duncan 'S' logo below each of the blades on the top of the pick-up.
Cheers,
M

Looks like someone took the sticker off the back, but it looks like a Dimebucker. Can't say for certain though.

Hi,
Thanks for that. Yeah, I had considered that it is a dimebucker, but the only ones i'd seen of this model have Seymour Duncan in white across the pick-up, which this doesn't. Anyone know how long the Dimebag model has been available, as this is a fairly old pick-up?
Cheers,
M

The pole pieces on that are too thick to be a Dimebucker. Duncan makes a rail pickup for Scott Ian, the El Diablo. I'm thinking that's what your pickup is. Check out this picture:

That there is most likely a SILVERBIRD... it was made for a short period many years ago...

Yep, that's the SH-9 Silverbird. From what I hear, people like it as a neck pickup as it's too bright to be used in the bridge.

I think one of those paired with a Dimebucker would look killer.

No way in hell it´s a dimebucker.. Dimebucker has smaller blades, smaller coils , and it encased in resin. THe Sh-13 looks like an L-500 Lawrence... this looks nothing like a Lawrence ;)

It´s a set of Iommi Bobbins, which mean´s it´s most likely Either an Iommi CS or an old SH-9 Silverbird....or of course something custom wound on Iommi Bobbins.

The Silverbird would normally have a "9" sticker (in my case 9NJ :headbang:), and should measure well under 10k, my neck measures 8.75...if on the other hand it´s pretty hot, it´s more likely an Iommi....

The Silverbird was IIRC originally designed as an OEM Pickup for Gibson... it was eventually discontinued becasue it didn´t sell too well, most players found it way too bright and shrill. There was a bridge version from what I gather, these were supposedly better...
