what it would cost to have a brand new fingerboard put on a neck ? would it just be cheaper to buy a custom neck with that type of fingerboard and headstock ? i have a neck i like..jackson reverse headstock.. 24 fret..but..its rosewood..and..i like ebony..just curious what it would cost to have the piece of ebony put in and maybe have it "fretted" thanks :)

Well, I'm not sure exactly how much that type of work would cost, but you'd definitely have to have it fretted ;). The frets are in the fingerboard, not the neck itself. You'd also have to pay for inlay work if you wanted them.

i see..yea..um i dont really like inlays..to me..they feel funny when bending the strings if your on an inlay vs on wood..iono..im weird about it :)

Re: does anyone know....

I am sure it would probally be a fairly hefty charge. I would strongly recomend buying a different neck instead!!!!!

Re: does anyone know....

Speaking of Jackson 24 fret necks.... Who stocks aftermarket 24 fret necks to fit Jacksons? No one i have found yet has repalcements.... Everyone is making Fender style 22 fret repalcement necks. If anyone has info in aftermarket 24 fret necks let me know....
