Does anyone use

Re: Does anyone use

forum user 'JOLLY' uses them both in bridge and neck, and gets some pretty good sounds out of them.

Re: Does anyone use

May B "Jolly" does, but unless U talk 2 him and see what kind of stuff hez playin' then stick to somethin semi-normal. Or, if you're playing jazz maybe a double jazz would work, but for anything else def. not.

Re: Does anyone use

Hey motorboy the jazz bridge is way to bright for jazz, unless u want one of the most articulate BRIGHT pickup seymour makes

Re: Does anyone use

my experience with a jazz is that they aren't that bright,
a friend has a hand made r.p. ES hollowbody , made from birdseye maple
using a jazz in the neck, it sounds muddy and dark.. no bright thing at all

maybe in bridge position they might sound bright ..

Re: Does anyone use

that's exactly what fusion said dude ;)

i agree with him though, it's a mid-low output alnico V 'bucker.. it's going to have a bit of the edge of the '59, and to an extent, some echoes of the JB i think?

A hollow body or semi hollow body with give you a darker sound. you may have to remove the pickup cover if you want it to sound brighter.
