Does Duncan distribute pickups without labels on purpose? (SSL-1)

Re: Does Duncan distribute pickups without labels on purpose? (SSL-1)

They look identical to the SSL-1s I received in my set except mine had a "1" sticker on them. The most important question is how do they sound? In the end, it's your money and your comfort level so do what you think is right.

A couple more things. I finally heard back from Duncan, they said "...Usually they have stickers on them, but not always (they fall off sometimes).". I'm not convinced that both stickers falling off of the two pickups I did not get packaging for is probable.

It's highly probable, but eerily coincidental.

Are there no impressions on the baseplates? Hard to tell in the pic. The Duncan Designed SC101s at least had their model number pressed into them, so surely the USA models would?

The whole affair sounds flaky to me, and I'd like to know the name of the vendor.

I've mentioned the vendor by name twice.

The seller got back to me and I am very happy with his response. He offered to send a new wired pickguard with all of the packaging and to make sure the stickers don't fall off of the SSL-1's this time. Given that he is willing to do this, and that the resistance of the pickups in question was within tolerance, AND that somebody in this thread vouched for the stickers falling off and called out that the soldering job looks like SD, I' m happy. I also looked into the seller's Ebay account. They have 3000+ ratings @99.7% and they sell plenty of loaded pickguards. I'll probably take the new pickguard and just be done with this. Thanks everyone for your input. Upvote for twilight guitars.

I am happy it worked out well! Let us see when it is done.

Wow, seriously nice! I found some really amazing pieces in the showcase section before too!
