Re: Does Epiphone make a LP Custom with p90s?
It's a strange omission for a brand that's made a tribute model to most of the 1 year wonders over the last decade or so...they made an ES5 sorta thing, a Wiltshire, and lots of other models with what would seem to be 'limited appeal'. A decent LP Custom with P90's, esp since the Gibson is mucho $$$, would seem obvious...
+1. They've come out with dozens of new models & limited editions in the last 5 years. And a few have had P-90's (like the Riviera P93 and the LP Special). Let's hope they continue with this trend. P-90's are making a resurgence in popularity.
Why not email Eiphone/Gibson Customer Service & tell them what models you'd like to see (I've done it many times). My wish list is:
- flame top LP Std with soap bar P-90's
- 1954 LP Custom with a P-90 bridge & Alnico Staple neck
- old-style P-90 SG Special (Santana, Townsend, & Iommi)
- 1952 gold top LP with a trapeze tailpiece (the original!)
- 335 Dot with twin dog ear P-90's (avoids the feedback issues of a Casino)
- A 'Super SG' with HB/P-90/P-90 and a 5-way switch (long overdue answer to Super Strats)
- and bring back the limitd edition ebony '56 LP Std; they didn't make
nearly enough of them!
Let's start a grassroots movement!
