Re: Does Epiphone make a LP Custom with p90s?
Thank you guy for the help. The Japanese guitars definitely intrigue me. Just wish I could play one to see if they stack up the Epiphone's necks. Maybe once I get to Japan
I much prefer my Edwards to any Epi MIK/MIC.
Neck is a C profile slightly thinner than '59 profile. But, not as thin as a '60 profile. Definitely closer to the '59.
Has an ebony board like a real LPC. Epi's are rosewood.
Comes stock with real Duncans.
Build quality is top notch. Better than the ESP LTD line. More on par with the ESP Standard series. Easely as good as if not better than a Gibby Studio.
Has the long neck tenon.
1 piece mahogany back. (Epi has 3 or more.)
2 piece maple top.
Gotoh tuners and bridge.
Bone nut. (not plastic)
Kurosawa, Ishibashi, Watanebe are three of the most respected Japan dealers.
On Ebay - Meester Sparkle, Hisashi, Katana and Yasoohmusic are highly recommended.
Also look at Burny, Tokai, Greco, Orville, Epiphone Japan, Bacchus
Another option if price is an issue and you want to try before you buy is:
(ESP) LTD PB401 (PotBelly) with the Duncan P-Rails.
I think they're the best kept secret of the (ESP) LTD line.
Everyone I've tried has been light weight, felt good, and sounded great.
Much prefer it over the ECs.
The ECs feel like a toy to me. The PB401 doesn't.
IMHO, It think they rival Epi.
