Does left handed fender custom shop single coils exist ?

Hello i want to make a woodstock strat. I already bought a left handed 60's body and a cbs left handed neck. Do you know if the 69 custom shop pickups from fender have a left handed option ?

I'm going for a left handed strat played as right handed kinda like jimmy. I was wondering if they don't exist couldn't I just rout the pickups cavities reversal ?

Dunno, but Callaham did a left-hand stagger on his H/SRVs for me.

No, have a look at the pickup route.

You could always use a non staggered set.

IF the magnets on the 69's don't directly touch the wire on the bobbin, you should be able to push the slugs around to make your own stagger.

I was lucky enough to snag some Fender lefty " '68 Strat" pickups from MF years ago when they clearanced them out for $29 ea. Those are what they put in the old "VooDoo" Strat and the later production " '68 Reverse" Strat that was cheaper. I have had them put away for years in hopes of making a VooDoo strat, I have a couple of lefty necks I picked up second hand and have needed a body with the reverse slant bridge rout, but have had to put everything on hold until I get out of some financial problems I have been having. They are the same pickups as the Custom Shop '69's but with the reverse stagger. Oh well, maybe sometime before I die....

FWIW - my '66 Fender LH Strat has a mix of left and right stagger, and I've swapped out left and right stagger in various positions, and it wasn't that significant of a difference to notice, even as the player standing in front of the amp; certainly nothing that couldn't be attenuated or worked out in other areas like strings, setup or amp.

IME Trying to sound and play like Jimi was more a matter of the ergonomics of playing a Strat upside down. You can't lay your arm on the guitar because you'll constantly mess up your settings, so you end up floating your arm over the body and playing the strings up by the neck, and the switch is upside down, so you end up ever accidentally throwing it to the neck pickup. That's about 1/3 of the sound. Having a pretty solid old '60's body with the large, thick headstock was another 1/3. Running that through a dimed Marshall plexi with 4x12 Celestion cab is about the last third of the sound. The playing part, you're on your own to practice.

Lndy Fralin’s “Woodstock” pickups are made with left handed stagger.

No, those pickups are not available left handed as aftermarket parts. They were made in very low numbers, but only put in to instruments, not packaged for sale as pickups. In other words, you have to find a set that was OEM in a left handed guitar, that was then pulled. You can find a number of pickup makers who offer left handed vintage stagger, though.

You could indeed just make it super easy on yourself by altering the pickup routs to accept flipped pickups, though. That's what I'd do.

As I said, I did buy a reverse stagger '68 Strat set at Musician's Friend, but it was years ago. I think Fender maybe had a glut of those pickups left over from the '68 Reverse Strat, and released them to MF (which at the time was not part of the big corporation it is now) to sell off at reduced prices. So, you are pretty much correct. However, there has to be a part number for the Fender strat pickups they put in left-handed strats, so there must be a way to purchase them through a Fender Authorized parts center. I don't know who that is now, I would think that any stores that are authorized Fender Service centers could order them by the part number, but I am not 100% sure about it.

Are those CS '69's?

Something having a part number doesn't mean that it's available for individual sale.

OP, it's worth contacting Fender to find the answers you want.
