Does the Mesa Electra Dyne sound pretty heavy now?

Re: Does the Mesa Electra Dyne sound pretty heavy now?

the rhythm guitar doesn't sound 'pretty' heavy to me. kinda needs a tube screamer IMO.

It sounds good, but it's hard to tell how "heavy" it would sit in a mix without bass and drums.

Maybe I should make a real song out of it and get someone to do a drum track for me. I too would like to know how well my Electra Dyne sits in a heavy mix.

If you double track that rhythm guitar it would sound just right to me.

well you're sort of playing in a classic rock/metal style, but it's fitting in that regard.

Unrelated, but I like your vibrato on the lead.

Well that's more of my thing I guess. I love more brutal stuff too but I like to be a little more laid back when I play so I stick to more classic sounding metal stuff. I wish I could get some EMG's and get the Lamb of God and Machine Head kind of tone though.

Thanks. I don't think my vibrato is good or anything but I try not to make it sound uneven or out of tempo.

It sounds really good. It is more classic metal/rock style though, what kind of heavy were you going for? It's a very smooth sound, good for the lead.

This is about as heavy as I want it to get. I was not going for brutal. If the day comes when I want to do something heavier, I'm going to get some EMG's and a dual rectifier.
