Soldering is FUN!!
The highlight of my month is going to be making an HS Strat with a WLH in the bridge and a Ssl-6 in the middle. I will be using new Seymour fast turn pots, one for vol and one for tone to control both pickups. I can't wait to do all the soldering so I know it gets done the way I want. I will be using a new Strat switch too. I can't wait for my new WLH to arrive. I have grown fond of that for bridge as it is not to hot and has a real gritty edge to it like old English rock bands, anyway, learn to solder, if I can do it YOU can do it.

My guitar is at the luthiers shop now, it'll probably be ready tomorrow or the day after, i was wondering if the lil59 bridge in neck position would also be a good option, since it's probably voiced similar to the lil59neck but with a bit more output?

I had suggested that too. Didn't you say you had tried the lil 59 bridge in neck position already and was too muddy for your taste?

I had indeed, but I forgot that was with a 250k pot because it was in my MIM strat (which i have since sold) so maybe that's why it was muddy? in any case i look forward to hearing the STK-S6

Even with 500k pots, the Lil 59 is gonna sound muddy in the neck.

Maybe. I once tried the hot rails with 250k and it was too muddy for my taste, maybe 500k could help. Also, I don't use a tone knob in my guitar with humbuckers.

I ordered a hot rails Neck, the STK-S6 is waaaaaay too low in output, it's a great sounding pickup but it doesn't match the JB in output.

Actually I am surprised that the STK-S6 is that far off of a JB. I know quite a few people that are happy with the balance of SSL-2s with a JB, so I'd think the output of the S6 would even be a closer match.

maybe those people like a volume boost when switching to the bridge? i personally prefer neck and bridge to be somewhat even in output

also not liking the JB after playing with it a bit, too much mids and output in general, i'm gonna try a '59 in the bridge with hot rails in the neck

The output thingies, and especially the tone thingies, on the Duncan site are near total garbage, IME. The B/M/T numbers appear to be completely subjective, and seem as if different people made different judgment at different times. You are better off asking here than looking at them.
DiMarzio's, OTOH, are remarkably good IME. Not sure why the difference.

is the B/M/T thingie on the Hot Rails Neck page also wrong? it would be strange to have that much mids in a neck pickup

All the pickup numbers appear to be arbitrary and inconsistent. I believe I said "garbage" as in pretty much useless, and to be ignored. I don't know if "wrong" or "right" can really be stated about them, but I do believe that the numbers are of so little utility that they actually do more harm than good.
I don't know what DiMarzio does to come up with their numbers, but whatever it is, it appears to be consistent across their pickup lines, and that's the main thing that matters.
