Does the STK-S6 have the same output as a '59 humbucker?

Re: Does the STK-S6 have the same output as a '59 humbucker?

is a hot rails neck similar to a full size PAF/59 pickup in output and EQ?

Nope. The HR has more mids, and more output than a 59. A 59 is scooped and what we'd call 'vintage output'. The Hot Rails is a high output pickup.

Exactly.

I'm so confused, according to the graph the hot rails has less output than a '59, which would make sense since the hot rails is a smaller size.

How hard can it be to find a worthy neck pickup single coil sized replacement for a '59? it seems impossible, the lil'59 lacks output so that's off the list

I don't think that graph is accurate as I hear it. Also, if you look at it, the green on the Hot Rails is larger than the one on the 59, so it is pretty jacked there, too.

what do you mean?

The colors on the graph (for the 'temperature' of the pickup) are not the same lengths.

Did you get the STK-S6? How do you like it so far?

I'm fan of both pickups (the 59' humbucker and the STK-S6). What would you like to know?

I believe the STK-S6 and JB match up fine. If searching for something more EQ similar, well... the JB is middy. You may want something more scooped...

Actually I wanted to know if Reee was happy with it. I had the same combo STK-S6/JB in my Strat and I know it works fine together as long as you like the strat neck tone which I love more than humbucker tone but Reee was more into a lil 59 tone.

I like the STK-S6 but the output was way too low, my guitar is back in the shop now and it'll have a hot rails neck installed
