Does this guitar exist or do I have to warmoth it together?

I think I have a good enough idea what I want but I'm not sure anyone makes it in a prepackged guitar (not a partscaster):

• Strat or Tele shaped, don't really care
• 6 point vintage trem
• HSS, no swimming pool route
• basswood body, maple top optional
• Neck profile something not slim, not a current Fender Am strat C. D or V or ideally just round, 0.85" or whereabouts thick
• Nut width 1+11/16"
• Frets small, tall or wide but not tall and wide

Must be out there, right? Pretty straightforward...

Maybe I should just get an old Ibanez Lucather?

Is there a budget restraint of any kind? Suhr, Anderson, etc come to mind. Fender used basswood in some of their flametop set neck Strats (Showmaster?) and IIRC they had an HSS model.

I would custom order, but Suhr would be something to try since they have a lot of basswood in there.

Having said that, since I do my own fretwork most of the Suhr extra money would be wasted on me.

Maybe I should just flip a lot of Strats until one "sticks"...

Well yeah if you're dead set on basswood, Suhr really touts the maple/basswood combo as the end all be all.

You don't necessarily need to custom order though, the S3 Pro comes in that EXACT config you want.

I'm not sure if they would meet ALL of those requirements, but I think you could find most of them in a Japanese Fender.

I would be even more specific and suggest a Squier JV Series "Sixties" Stratocaster. The only downside is that this would require routing for the HB. Could you countenance a Li'l 'bucker instead of a full-sized one?

Alternatively, check out a pre-owned example of the high end Yamaha Pacifica models. The ones with the SD pickups and Warmoth compound radius neck.

Well, WTF, I am really not ready to go down the road of requiring a certain wood. I bought a used Hamer Daytona, let's see how that goes.

if you do your own fretwork, get a warmoth or usacg.

you get exactly what you want for less than suhr will charge.

did ya get a good deal on the daytona? i like mine quite a bit.

$575 sippered for a blue one with some case or other. It was over at TGP, the ad might still be up.

Are these really nitro painted? Can't think they are.

I did miss out on the Chapparal that ended on ebay today, though, but then I wanted a Strat.

Have you looked at ordering a G&L? Lots of options available in neck shape, width and profile. I think their Legacy Deluxe model comes close--except for Leo's Dula Fulcrum Vibrato. (Which I think is clearly superior to the vintage Fender Synchronized Tremelo.)

Just a thought.
