Don't call me a liar...

Had a client get hold of me about a cheezy double neck I worked on for him awhile back.... Said I lost one of the truss rod covers... Good thing I take pix of stuff that comes into the shop. Look close - there is NO truss rod cover on the 6 string neck. He had to eat crow....

That's really good practice, taking photos of your work for "security".

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case a picture prevented a thousand words. Very good practice to take before and after pics of everything you work on.

People can be petty. I mean seriously, we aren’t looking at a boutique instrument or a gibson/fender. He could probably find a replacement online for under $5 and he’s actually gonna pick a fight about it? Then wrong, to boot. How lame.

Good techs are hard to come by, and if you’re a good one, picking a fight with you over a replaceable piece of plastic hardly seems worth it, to me.

He didn't have his dukes up, so to speak.... but he was sure it was there when he dropped it off... Now I wonder what took him so long to notice it was gone, and where it ended up. It wasn't in the case. I guess he bought it used for a hundred clams, and I've seen kits on Squeebay for not much more than that.

Ah i see. Sorry for assuming the guy was being a total ass about it. Good to know he wasn’t. Very good that you took pics, still.

Oh, yes - I'm a complete parts pirate. That's why I'm so popular around here, and turning down work right and left.

Out of curiosity, is the guitar any good for it's price? It looks dodgy as hell.
Can't see a brand name from the picture either.

Posting the pics of the clients guitar and exposing his behavior on a public forum may not be the best practice though. :lmao:

Think of the repercussions of your actions ICTGoober, next time he dons the stage with that guitar in his Don Fender cover band, the packed arena of people will suddenly shout out in surprise and defiance "look, it's the missing truss rod cover ass hole client guy" and flee the arena like that scene from the Blob

You'll have ruined him....

Well, it's cheap.... The electronics are crap, of course and the hardware is low quality. The fretwork was decent. Let's just say I wouldn't buy one.
