Just breifly I want this guitar to be pretty versitile. Jazz to Hard/heavy Rock I want the Bridge Pickup for mainly rhythm and the Neckpup as smooth and clean as I can get. The mid im not sure... I guess a really twangy strat sound.

I really hate the sound of the pups in it. They are really messy sounding and I need a pickup with a lil extra bass because the rg is thin sounding and physicaly. Plus Im using a small gauge (48) that is as far as i can go with out making major ajustments to the bridge and neck.

Ive got a JB in another guitar and REALLY love the sound of that. But want this guitar to be different. Its really a metal/rock guitar but it is very verstile anyway.

Im also thinking of getting a cheap LP for mellow music and getting a Pearly Gates and sumthing else.....

Im open for any sugestions.
Thanks...

I would say a Custom for the bridge and Alnico II pro neck. The middle pickup? I am not sure what will mix well with these two.

Super 3.....tighter and more agressive than the ToneZone but still thick and meaty.

ToneZone is alright but it's defintiely not the best pickup Dimarzio makes by a longshot.

Re: Dont no what To put in my RG1570!!!

DD in the bridge and a Full shred in the neck. As for the single in the middle I would consider a JB jr, Hotrails or for a nice fat strat tone a Quarter pounder.

Duncans.

Alnico II Pro in the neck, Custom Staggered in the middle, and Custom in the bridge.

As far a Dimarzio is concerned, I'm not a big fan of their humbuckers, but their Fast Tracks and their Virtual Vintage single coil line is superb. :burnout:

Re: Dont no what To put in my RG1570!!!

If you decide to put Duncan pups a good combination would be the Custom model for the bridge, a Duckbucker for the middle and a 59 model for the neck position.

Re: Dont no what To put in my RG1570!!!

I'll leave the humbucker recommendations to others, but for the single in the middle, its hard to beat either a Hot, Quarter Pound, or a Custom, (SSL-3/4/6). All three of those are available as "tapped" versions.

The combination of tones that you could get by tapping the middle, and splitting the 'buckers would be mind-boggling!

You said you wanted versatility. :laugh2:

(I just counted 36 different combinations without even trying.) :13:

Re: Dont no what To put in my RG1570!!!

Not sure on the single coil, but what you want sounds exactly like my 60n/89b combo i love so much.

Maybe a 56 neck, hot middle, custom bridge?

to do all the spliting/wiring.... You'd need a diploma from M.I.T.....

Nah . . . just someone in the forum that likes to draw. :laugh2:

Seriously though, if you just use one push/pull pot to split to the inside coils, and one push/pull pot to "tap" the single, you've got twenty different combo's right there.
