Made about twenty clips and none o them sound like the darn sound I git from it hooked up to the amp. Don't know much about recording stuff been using my iPhone, it says it's MP3 but doesn't sound like the real thing.

Frankenstein amp has come to life - reverb pedal - 12AX7 preamp ( adjustable vol/B+) - BBE 422a Sonic maximizer - 50 watt SS power amp - Celestion G10 Vintage 60W speaker in a baffled cabinet to improve bass - - -

It was sitting around and it does a nice job for tone control albeit bulky it will ultimately serve as the mounting Chassis for the preamp amp and power supplies. The other thing that is very difficult to quantify is that for some reason like the sound that it produces.

Been playing with B+ voltage adjustment and getting some outrageous overdrive and killer distortion from this contraption. Worried a bit, can the tube or capacitors be damaged by running B+ up and down?

Shouldn't as long as you don't go over the voltage rating of the caps.

Dramatic improvement in every aspect, don't even miss the reverb. Quilter hybrid, sounds great! (little screw driver to adjust gain and B+ on preamp)

I thought that it has been established that this particular preamp is not a starved plate design.

it is not starved plate, b+ is adjustable from 100v-250v.
