Dorm Amplification.

Re: Dorm Amplification.

Fender Champion. Im all about it. Im about to buy one because I am in an apartment now.

PLEASE..try one of the Fender Champin 600's ...I tried one and was really amazed. 5 watts, tubes, distorts naturally at a decent volume, cleans up nicely, can be plugged into an extension cab, not all that expensive, not heavy to carry around, not big in a small dorm room, could be miked for recording.

Good Luck

On that champion vein, I'm working up a 5F2 princeton circuit with a 12 inch speaker that would also fit the bill. But, it will not be nearly as inexpensive as a Champion or a valvetronix. :)

Re: Dorm Amplification.

I used a micro cube in my dorm room....it is really a great bedroom practice amp...I even use it when my band gets together without a drummer.....If you are only planning on getting something for dorm practice, I would go with the cube...you can direct record and it gets like 20 hours on six AA batteries..and it can get louder than what you would expect.....

it has great sound for what it is!

I'm with this suggestion.

Re: Dorm Amplification.

Micro Cubes get pretty darn good tone, I was pretty impressed with the ones I've tried. I've liked them more than the Vox modelers I've tried.
