Epiphone '05 Dot 335. Pickups aren't bad but can always be better :smokin: I figured since I was going to have the guts out I may as well go ahead and change the pots as well, good thought???

I would guess I would need 500k pots?
New caps?

I am thinking about
Pearly Gates Set
59s
Seth Lovers?

Something very PAFish & Has to be chrome covers!

Thanks!

I plan on buying one of these soon. There is no doubt that I will be putting in a Jazz n '59b combo.

500k would be vintage accurate. Thats the combination I have in my Sheraton

I don't think you should use anything other than 500k on a darkish sounding guitar like this.

Seth Lovers, 500K CTS pots, .02 Sprague Orange Drop caps and ALOT OF PATIENCE when rewiring 335 style guitars!

A bit of fishing line comes in very handy too. :burnout:

i am guessing you tie the line to the top of each pot and then you can just pull it back thru?

i would much rather do it myself and can usually figure stuff out but patience isnt my strongest point :(

You got it. It really isn't hard, just time consuming. Also, try to get some probes and masking tape if you're going through the f holes.

Another trick that I recommend is that you make a cardboard template of the position of the pots in the control cavity.

This way, you can do all the wiring outside of the guitar. When you're done, all you have to do is pull the pots through the bridge pickup cavity into the body using the fishing line.
