Double cut Tele anyone?

My son bought this hunk of mahogany which had been rough cut into Tele shape but the owner had changed his mind and decided on a PRS type body before giving up and selling it.....finished article came out very well

I've always wanted to get my hands on a Double Cut Tele!!! There's just something about the way they look that makes me want one. I've never seen them in any other color than Butterscotch, the Walnut looks flipping fantastic & I love the chicken head knobs!!!!

Nice. ESP does the Hybrid, Fender has or had the TC-90 both cool guitars. Yours looks great!

Gary Moore used to use a Light Blue one that the something-or-other brothers over in Texas ( I think ) made and i think they still do .

Me too! I thought it was gonna be hideous, but it's really sharp. I really love it.
I'm no tele expert, is the lower horn stock or shortened up a bit?

That looks really good. I didn't think I'd like the double cutaway Tele but it's really nice looking. I also like the pickguard the way it is. Thumbs-up to this one.

Looks way better than a standard television IMHO. I like the pick guard. The wood grain is super cool looking. Nicely done.

Interesting! I'll admit that it looks off since it is ALMOST a Tele... how is the neck pocket without the wood on either side?

Thanks for all the great feedback. The neck pocket came out pretty well. The luthier who routed all the cavities was very pleased with it. The pickups are SD Vintage for Tele and a Joe Barden bridge, 4 way switch and CTS pots. The headstock looks a little naked and we are not sure what if anything to do with that. Had to alter the pick guard of course but like the choice of material.

agree I wasn't sure about the knobs and all the parts added up cost wise he could have bought a mim Tele for the same money after people were paid for their work but stiĺl worth it imo
