double cutaway chambered body les paul vs solid body les paul

im looking at buying a new guitar. i currently have a epiphone dot and i love it, but im looking for more of a les paul thick tone. i really like the double cutaway design but is there a big difference in the tone on the chambered body of the double cut les paul vs the standard single cut les paul? my local guitar shop doesnt have any double cut les pauls so id have to order one oneline. any info is much appreciated!!

Re: the single cut, you seem to be speaking of them as if they aren't chambered. They are, however. If you want a non-chambered one, you're going to have to go back several years and get a used one, or buy one of the non-chamberd models, speciically. The new, chambered ones sound closer to an SG. Though not all the way into SG territory, they do have more high end than the Swiss cheezed or solid body ones IME. It's a welcome change IMO, though it's not the "classic" Paul sound.

As for the tone of DC vs. SC, I don't hear much, however there is a huge difference in feel.

double cuts on a lester dont really add much in terms of upper fret access.
As far as tone goes - apart from the obvious difference in the way a solid vs a semi feel and resonate, 335's are maple laminates wrapped around a maple core, whereas lesters have a maple cap on a mahogany body.
