I just got it soldered in last night and I couldn't be more pleased. This is a beautiful sounding clean pickup. It is bright and responsive without a shred of distortion. I wish I was a better guitar player as this pickup screams to play "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix. This is just what I needed because the Duncan Distortion is such a hot pickup that it is impossible to play clean. I really believe now that I have the best of both worlds. Again, I highly recommend it. Let me know what you think if you get one.
And yes, the body is alder and the neck maple rosewood.

Great that you like your combo, shredder.
The Jazz neck is a great neck pickups, very sweet and clear.
But i think the the cleans of the DD aren't so bad as you might expect from a high gain pickup. Do you split the humbuckers?

I'm kind of new to this so I hope I answer your question right. I don't think that I did split the humbuckers. I went with the standard series humbucking installation instructions. Don't get me wrong, though. I wasn't complaining about the distortion being dirty, I put it in to be played that way. The Jazz picks up any cleans I need just fine. Could you tell me what you mean? I love learnig from you more experienced players.

if you split the humbucker you can set it so that you can use 1 or 2 coils and then give yourself a humbucker and single coil in one pickup, though they never sound as good as proper single coils they can still sound pretty good and give that glassy bright single coil sound.

well the usual thing is to get a push/pull tone pot and you wire it with the instructions with the pot/pickup to how it sais, that means that when the pot is normal its a humbucker, pul the pot outwards and click into place and you have a single coil. also you can get a switch that goes into the scratchplate that will do this for you.
