Double-Neck Guitar Experiences Anyone?

Ahhh yes, the old double-neck guit-beast, a fixture of concerts for years, quite impressive looking (not to mention the convenience of 6/12 strings in one axe) but certainly not without their problems (namely weight and never having the necks positioned quite right). My roommate has an old early 80's vintage Carvin double-neck I actually geta kick out of playing occasionally (it just BEGS me to play the opening of Mahavishnu's "Birds of Fire" on the 12).

Inquiring Owls want to know, what are your double-neck experiences, good or bad?

Played my friend's Epi double neck and didn't care for it. I'd just rather buy a Dano 12 to go with my 6 strings. :burnout:

i always have to play 'Dance of the Maya' on one, or perhaps 'Squonk' if it is a 12 string/Bass model.

I've got one. (I'm asuming your talking about the Jimmy Page, Stairway, sg double neck thing)

I dont really like it. It's neck heavy, so don't think about playing standing up. ANd the whole thing wheighs a ton too. Mine also came from the factory with the 12 string necks action all messed up., and I just found out a out it. A whole year later.

That's pretty much it, also the tone on the 12 string side was a bit uninspiring. :blackeye:
