Double truss rod or Single? Is one better than the other?

tone?

So what is the verdict guys?
Vintage one way truss rod or Double expanding? I think that Anderson and other top end builders use the single design.

How much does the truss rod make or break the tone?

Also how can you tell if your truss rod is one way or double?

Are there differnt materials used for truss rods? Like better quality ones?

A dual rod allows you to bring a backbowed neck into a normal shape. It's very hard to do with a single rod without some help.

double truss rod is typically associated with tone suckage ... if you are looking for vintage-y tones, single rod for sure ... if you are doing heavy metal / etc with more of the tone coming from the mega pickups - stomp boxes - high gain amp, it might not be as noticeable

And falsely as well. The neck on my frankenstrat has a double expanding truss rod and it's probably the best sounding guitar I own.

I prefer the double rods myself because they don't have to be adjusted as much and make the neck a bit more rigid, which is good if you play out or take the guitar everywhere. Very stable. I think I had to adjust mine twice in 13 years.
