Dropped a Perpetual Burn in m 17 Keisel DC 135 and WOW!!

Did the swap last week played it out for the 1st time at my Church this morning. REALLY surprised with how good this pickup sounds in this guitar! First off he split tone with the stock AP-11 in the middle is just jaw dropping!! Better in fact than the same split bucker single tones with my Modern Player Tele running the 59/Custom and a AP II single in the middle!! Did not expect that In fact i think t sounds better the SSL-5/Alnico II flat set up in my 2000 Mex strat. Shocked at just how clear and articulate this pickup is in this particular guitar. Just stunning and will likely become my #-1 player now.
Here is a clip from this morning mostly running the Perpetual Burn split with the center AP-11. Amp is my old Boogie Subway Rocket running only a little reverb in he loop no other effects. I notice here that our soundman has me running a lot brighter out front than my amp is set BTW!

Nice! It does sound good. Sounds like it has the right amount of output to give the amp that open sound without being too thin. God bless.

Anxious to get your thoughts/clips on the PB by itself. Ive been curious to try one ever since they came out. Ideally, Id like to have a Carvin JB guitar with a PB in it, but not in the budget..

In the right guitar with the right music, it works very well. It is a pickup I was surprised I liked after I read the profile...I didn't think Id like it at all. But in certain guitars, it is just right.

Agreed on in being very good in the right guitar and for this pickup this Keisel is the RIGHT GUITAR!. What surprised me the most though was how well it split. I have this one wired where it auto taps in pos 2 with the AP-11 and it was like that combo was just MADE to work together!! The chime and clarity is just unreal + it's DEAD silent!
The PB thought would be much like the 59 Custom Hybrid from the output level and tone chart but it's a much different pickup all together. Not as bright smoother on the top end tight on the bottom and crystal clear at gain. While it doesn't pull those crazy harmonics like 59/Custom does I REALLY like this pickup. I think it really is an unfortunate name though as while I respect the Becker connection this is NOT a high output burner like the name will lead you to believe it is. This is a Hot PAF with a smooth very articulate top end and just crazy clarity. Bet one of these things would REALLY shine in the bridge of a good Les Paul!!

Spent some time today with me gear and did some head to head runs with the Modern player 59 Custom and the Keisel with the Perpetual Burn. I some surprising things. Through the Jet City the Hybrid was a little bright and harsh while the Perpet was articulate warmer and was the clear winner. However every thing flipped when i plugged into the Zinky as the Perpet seemed a little flat and dull in comparison to the Hybrind so with that amp the hybrid was the clear winner. Biggest surprise is that IMO the Perpet splits better than the Hybrid! hybrid get a little shrill and harsh when split while the Perpet is quite sweet and sounds bigger. Like both a LOT and it's apples to oranges here so goes down to what i'm looking for and what guitar it's going in.
