Dual terror alternatives

It has been a very long time since I was last on here, mainly because I've not the money to buy anything new.
Anyway, I have concluded that my Marshall JCM900 combo really is no longer up to the task.
To sound anywhere near how I want it I have to use an EQ pedal, and even then it's not that great.
So I borrowed my mates Orange Dual Terror. For a little 30W amp it sounds massive. Blows rings round my 50W 900 or a Mesa Express 5:25 or a cornford roadhouse 30. It's also much cheaper than the last two, although no where near the flexibility of the mesa.
Anyway, I want a simple amp that just sounds great for heavy duty blues rock.
The Dual Terror is top of the list at the moment, any other similar priced suggestions?

Re: Dual terror alternatives

Over the weekend, I got a chance to A/B my Marshall Jubilee 2550 50W head with my 15W Orange Tiny Terror.
I was amazed to find that there was very little volume difference between them, and the tones were similar.....I'd even give the nod to the Tiny Terror.

As far as amps.....there's hundreds of choices, but you should check out the H&K TubeMeister 18 and 36.....especially the 36. Also, the Bad Cat Cougar series and Bogner Alchemist (both made in China) are nice sounding amps at an affordable price.

That is one of the two amps I really want. It is open box for $700 at http://www.humbuckermusic.com/ordutehere.html

so that is rock bottom for a head of this caliber...

the other amp I want is a Laney Cub 12 combo since it is the most light weight amp with the biggest tone. If I put a neodymium in it, would only weigh 20 pounds! lighter than a fender pro junior and better for southern rock type stuff :)
