Duckbucker issue (series wiring)

Hello!

I had a Duckbucker in the middle position which was wired in parallel as it meant to be. There were no problems at all. Recently I've started some exploring with various wiring possibilities. So i've decided to wire Duckbucker is series to see what would happen (I thought to maybe add a push-pull switch in the future so I could switch between two wiring modes).

So I've wired Duck in series (just like my JB) and faced a problem: top 3 strings are MUCH louder than bottom 3 strings. So it sounds like I've made a coil split, but I've don't! My first guess was about adjusting pole pieces, but they seem to be adjusted as the pickup works fine in parallel.

So, what it could be? Perfectly fine in parallel and strange behavior in series, like one of the coils is off.

It definitely sounds like somethings wired wrong. The best thing to do would be to measure both coils with a meter. If you don't have one, they can be had fairly cheap.

That certainly doesn't sound right. Double check, and report back. If it still sounds that way, post a pic of your wiring.

Guys, false alert. I double checked and found out that it was my fault. Accident splitting...

I made this mod quite fast, just to check it out, so I forgot to isolate series connection. It touched pickguard's foil. Foil touched the switch. Switch was grounded. So I
accidentally grounded one coil of Duckbucker and it turned off. My bad...

Well, I have to say that this kind of a problem happened when I initially took my guitar from a guitar tech. He was responsable for replacing these pickups. He wired the Duck in series first and this problem showed up. Then he wired it in parallel and everything was OK. Now I know what he did wrong.
