Duckbucker power

Hello everybody,

I have this Duckbucker pickup and I was wondering if someone who tried it, wired in series in the bridge position of a strat could tell me about it ?

I also like the bridge and neck in parralel so since the Duckbucker is full quack maybe it is worth it?

I want to replace my ssl-3 hot for strat since I want something less OP.

So yeah it sound amazing wired in parralel in the middle position but how about in bridge position wired in series ?

Thanks

Wiring a pickup in series rather than parallel multiplies its inductance by four. With a Duckbucker, it should give something in the 6H range, not too far from the almost 8H of a SSL3. Magnetism is more powerful with the rod magnets of a real single coil than with a bar magnet under the PU so a DB in series should sound a bit less loud, theoretically. But the best thing to do is to try it directly (Personally, I'd devote a series/parallel switch to each of the neck and bridge PU's: I've that on one of my main stage guitars with SC sized rails pickups and it makes it super versatile).

Possibly useful link (this video being not from me):
