Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

I've never heard of them, but I'm sure Mr. Dumble will be interested, as will his lawyers :laugh2:

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

I'll check to see if I have a spare 15-large lying around...

A friend of mine used to hang out with Alexander in Santa Cruz, back when his name was Howard and he used to mod Fenders. My friend said, even back then, his amp mods were outrageously priced, but sounded amazing.

This "Dunble" thing.... kind of reminds me of some of the stuff I have to deal with pertaining to knock-off pickups.

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

all I can say about "Mr. Dunble" is "Dude, show some originality!"

Not nearly as much as a real Dumble ... which usually run $15,000 - $25,000 ...

But if these sound anything like real Dumble's I'd definatly buy one if I had 3-4K lying around ... The Dumble on the Line 6 is one of my favorite Presets

You mean like "Seemore Dunkin" pickups? LOL

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

i dont get it what can possibly be in dumbles that make them so desireable and expensive? is it cause thier "rare"?

URANIUM TRANSFORMERS? FLUX CAPACITOR?

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

A little Mojo ... and a little Juju Magic

all about the Voodoo ... What makes a '59 more desirable than a 57,58, or a 1960 Les Paul ...

Methinks it's due to high quality, limited supply and big name players saying "Hey I use this amp"

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

some people want that Larry Carlton fusion tone that he gets with his

I prefer the more bluesy Dumble tones of Sonny Landreth and the late Lowell George

Re: Dumble-- I Mean "Dunble" Amps

Dumble amps are THE amps for fusion and jazz players. They are incredible (as any Larry Carlton clips will show you). They are insanely expensive, but if this 3 grand "Dunble" does the same (which I highly doubt), then it's more than worth it.

Some amps that do the Dumble tone pretty well (not exact) include the Two Rock Reverb Custom and Bruno Super 100.

This guy is really brave! Doesn't Dumble also build firearms?
Jeremy and Chris are right....why spend stupid money, when you can get a Bruno, Two Rock, Mystic, and now these Dumb Bulls. :laugh2:

The high prices are always dictated by the fact that a designer 'hit the nail on the head' so to speak. Same with Klon Centaur OD's for nearly $400.
The copycats come close, but no dice. However, Bruno may be able to surpass Dumble. If I was loaded with dough, I'd buy one of these Dunble's, because as soon as he gets his cease and decist...or lawsuit, those few amps he made might be the closest thing you'll get - to a real Dumble.
I'm more of a fan of rock amps like Bogners, but my Chieftain gives me a very close to Dumble type of sound, especially with my Klon or a pedal like the Menatone 'Howie', which is a Howard Dumble vibe OD. I like that sound, but I'm really not a fusion player, so it's not 'my sound.' Dumble's sure are ugly, too. Amazing how desireable they are, despite their nasty appearance.

HA HA!

By the way, TGS, regardless of what you actually look like in real life, you are permanently branded in my mind as looking like will ferrell with a cowbell.

Ha Ha. Good. I'm not the only one. If I met TexasGuitarSlinger, I'd say "Whoa, you don't have curly hair, a beard, and a cowbell? WTF? :laugh2:
