The Dimarzio's are nice and warm with a rich midrange. The 59 has strong treble, more clarity, less midrange, and punchy bass.
I prefer the Dimarzio though. The 59 is a bit too hard and loud for me.This answers the question exactly.
I personally find the '59B pairs better in the neck with hot bridge humbuckers. I have a Distortion/'59N set in my RG570, and I find that '59N is REALLY wimpy, weak, and chirpy compared to the Distortion.I would pair a stock 59n with any hot bridge pickup in a Floyded bolt on neck superstrat.

I like that difference. It saves me from having to mess with a volume knob.I personally find the '59B pairs better in the neck with hot bridge humbuckers. I have a Distortion/'59N set in my RG570, and I find that '59N is REALLY wimpy, weak, and chirpy compared to the Distortion.

IMO, I much prefer the 59
DiMarzio makes quality pickups that last forever, but they sound compressed and fake to me.

A 59 with more treble would be the Pearly Gates, at least in some guitars.
