please dont say just buy a paf pro i really prefer the tone and quality of duncans
which i know you can understand:bigok:
anyway which duncan will get me closest to a paf pro type concept?
scremin demon?
the pro is based on a paf but has more output presence, clarity and a very vocal
wha pedal in the middle lead tone

here is the actual description,

The PAF Pro® was created when chops-intensive playing was first starting to happen, and high-gain amps and rack systems were getting popular. A pickup was needed that combined a lot of presence and "cut" with an open-sounding PAF® vibe. The transparency of its sound lets the PAF Pro® slice through heavy processing, where darker-sounding pickups get lost in the mud of the effects chain. Low notes have both snap and chunk, and there is a spike in the mid-range that gives the pickup a subtle "aw" vowel sound, like a wah-wah pedal stopped in the middle. Treble response is tweaked, so high notes stand out without getting brittle. The PAF Pro® makes an outstanding neck pickup in almost any guitar, and it's an exceptional bridge pickup when high output isn't required.

I think there's no such thing made by Duncan. It would be really cool if Seymour made same sort of pups. Although, Screamin' Demon/Jazz could be close.

Re: Duncan alternative to the paf pro?

Are you looking for the neck or bridge position? I would say the Jazz is a good alternative, but if you're doing a N/B combo you could use the Demon in the bridge, although I'd still recommend the Jazz N/B combo.

The Full Shred is wound nothing like the PAF Pro, but when a guy likes the way that harmonics jump out of a PAF Pro in the bridge, I make sure I point out that the Full Shred has harmonics that behave in a similar manner. But you already have one of those, and you're selling your other one, so I realize you aren't looking for that kind of sound. Another aspect of the PAF Pro in the bridge is that slightly metallic "cut through the mix" tone that is also present in the Pearly Gates. Again, I'm not saying the PGB is a replacement for the PAF Pro, just that it covers one aspect of it. I guess it depends on what features of the PAF Pro you find essential.

There's only one major issue on that Jazz; lower output than that of Paf Pro's

well not that i am against dimarzios i just fell that duncans have a more natural tone but if he does not make anything remotely like a pro i will have to go dimarzios in this case:bigok:
I thought that going by the descriptions of the two(demon and pro) they were similar?
i mean both are paf based pups with more output presence and clarity
and to be honest when i heard GL's sacred groove lead tone i though it sounded very Paf proish, listen to "love from the mama head" for Example
is there any truth that dimarzios are made cheaper than duncans overall?
I keep hearing that and it really turns me away from them
BTw, the full shred is great but i need one guitar to have a paf pro type pup in the bridge
