The description does not mention potting, so I'd think it was actually potted.

The sound clip above sounded awesome but I can’t imagine a high gain tone like that without a potted pickup.

to be honest I don't know if it's potted.
But I'm using my unpotted T-Tops for high gain metal all the time without any issues, especially with the covers off
